HR Liaisons

HR Liaisons are the key individuals within departments and schools who guide and assist their faculty and staff with processes related to human resources and payroll functions. The term "HR Liaison" refers to a role that is assigned to individuals; it is not a separate position in and of itself. The Office of Human Resources recognizes that HR Liaisons have a wide variety of other duties, and we appreciate your partnership with our office to provide the best services possible to NSC's faculty and staff.

Training for the HR Liaisons is provided on a bimonthly basis in FY2013. The training sessions are offered twice, to provide you with flexibility in determining when you can attend. Training sessions include topics such as:

  • Compliance with federal, state, NSHE, and NSC policies and procedures
  • Understanding benefits
  • Discussions about ideas for process improvements
  • "Watch Lists" of potential upcoming changes
  • Reminders about deadlines

The role of HR Liaison is assigned to the individual(s) within each department/school who are responsible for performing, coordinating, and/or monitoring all aspects of personnel and payroll administration for the faculty and staff within the department /school.

    • Educational benefits
    • Worker's compensation
  • Position descriptions
  • Performance evaluations
  • Recruitment and On-boarding
    • Applicant Tracking System
    • I-9s
    • New hire checklists and orientation
  • Transitions and terminations
    • Clearance
    • Scheduling exit interviews with HR
  • Communication regarding a wide variety of campus activities, events, and notices
    • Open enrollment
    • Training opportunities or requirements
    • Holidays and campus closings
    • Emergency information
