Nevada State College School of Education students developed lesson plans and led writing workshops for Clark County School District students as part of their class, "Teaching Writing Across School Curriculum," a class which focuses on teaching writing in all subject areas and grade levels.

CCSD Schools Receive Technology Donations Through Grant

Two Clark County School District schools received a generous donation of Hewlett Packard scanners as part of a Nevada Collaborative Teacher Improvement Program (NeCoTIP) grant, which was written by NSC School of Education Assistant Professor, Dr. Kevin Graziano. The grant project addressed the need for increasing the number of secondary teachers who are technologically proficient in order to challenge students' academic performance.

Nevada State College helps local science teachers gain better understanding or regional geology, develop classroom lessons

A two-week workshop hosted by Nevada State College assisted Clark Country School District middle school and high school teachers develop a greater understanding of regional geology and encourage inquiry based learning for their students. During the workshop, teachers ventured into the Western Grand Canyon to conduct studies and experiments and were able to see casts made of actual prehistoric giant mammoth teeth.
